Terms
Terms of use
Last updated October 30, 2026
IgniteCast is operated by Scate Technologies Inc., based in Michigan, USA ("Scate," "we," "us"). These terms cover the IgniteCast website, Studio, the capture apps, and the guides published through them. By creating an account or using IgniteCast, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
If you use IgniteCast for a company or other organization, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.
Accounts
You need an account to create guides and download the capture apps. Keep your login to yourself, and use accurate name and email details. You are responsible for activity under your account.
IgniteCast may be invite-only. When open registration is on, you can create an account yourself. We can refuse or close an account that breaks these terms.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, video, audio, text, and other material you upload. You give Scate permission to host, process, display, and back up that material so the product can work: including showing it to people you publish it for, and sending it to our AI providers when you use an AI feature.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload, and for who can see it. A private guide stays inside your organization. A public link can be opened by anyone who has it.
Organizations
Guides, channels, and libraries belong to an organization. Owners and admins manage members and what those members can do. If you invite someone, you confirm you may contact them for that purpose.
Acceptable use
Do not use IgniteCast to:
- break the law, or infringe someone else's rights
- upload malware, or try to break, scrape, or overload the service
- share another person's private information without their permission
- mislead viewers about who created a guide or what it shows
Our intellectual property
The IgniteCast platform is covered by U.S. Patent No. 8,738,556, "Course development program," owned by Scate Technologies Inc. Scate owns IgniteCast, including its software, design, and the IgniteCast name and logo. These terms let you use IgniteCast. They do not give you any other rights to it, and you may not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the platform.
Copyright complaints
If you believe a guide on IgniteCast uses your work without permission, tell us through the contact page. Include a link to the guide, what you own, and how to reach you. We may remove the content and notify the person who published it. Accounts that repeatedly infringe can be closed.
AI features
Some Studio tools send step images and text to AI providers, currently OpenAI and Kling, to draft captions, narration, images, voiceover, or presenter video. Review anything AI produces before you publish it. AI output can be wrong, and you are responsible for what you publish.
Plans and AI credits
IgniteCast is free to use during early access. Some AI features may be limited by AI credits. Paid plans and credit purchases are not on sale yet. Before you are charged for anything, we will show the price and billing terms, and you will need to agree to them.
AI credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
Changes and availability
Features can change, and the service can be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will post the new version here with a new date, and continuing to use IgniteCast after that means you accept it.
Disclaimer
IgniteCast is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, Scate disclaims all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Scate is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim about IgniteCast is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
Indemnity
You agree to cover Scate's reasonable costs, including legal fees, if a claim is brought against us because of content you uploaded or your breach of these terms.
Ending use
You can stop using IgniteCast at any time. We can suspend or close access if these terms are broken, or if we discontinue the service. Contact us if you want an account or organization removed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you and Scate agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
