IgniteCast is operated by Scate Technologies Inc., based in Michigan, USA ("Scate," "we," "us"). This policy describes what we collect when you use the website, Studio, the capture apps, and published guides. Questions? Contact us.
Information we collect
- Account. Name, email, and a hashed password when you create an account or accept an invite.
- Organization. Organization name, your role, and the emails of people you invite.
- Content. Photos, video, audio, captions, and other material you capture or upload, plus the guides, channels, and libraries you publish.
- Messages. Name, email, company, and message when you use the contact form.
- Use of guides. When someone opens a guide or channel, we record a view, and for signed-in viewers we can record watch time and completion. Anonymous viewers are counted with a random id stored in that browser.
- Technical data. IP address on contact-form submissions (to limit spam), and standard server logs.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- run accounts, organizations, and published guides
- send password resets, invites, and replies to contact requests
- show organization admins how their guides are being watched
- produce captions, images, voiceover, and video when you use an AI feature
- keep the service secure and prevent abuse
We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and browser storage
IgniteCast uses a few cookies and one saved id. None of them are advertising cookies.
-
Sign-in cookie (
cast_session). Set when you log in, kept for 30 days, and readable only by the server. The product needs it to keep you signed in. -
Organization cookie (
cast_account_id). Remembers which organization you are using. -
View-count id (
cast_analytics_session, stored in this browser, not sent as a cookie). Lets us count anonymous views of a guide without creating an account for the viewer. -
Cookie notice (
ignite_cookie_notice, stored in this browser). Remembers that you accepted the notice at the bottom of the page.
The notice asks you to accept so you know about this storage. Choosing Accept hides the notice on later visits. Sign-in still uses the session cookie, because the account cannot work without it.
Who we share it with
- People you publish to. Members of your organization can see private guides you share with them. Anyone with a public link can open a public guide.
- Your organization admins. They can see members, invites, and viewing stats for that organization.
-
Service providers. Companies that run parts of IgniteCast for us, only for that purpose:
- Microsoft Azure hosts the servers and stores all IgniteCast data.
- OpenAI receives step images, text, and audio when you use AI captions, slide images, voiceover, transcription, or library questions.
- Kling receives step images and the related text when you create an AI presenter video.
- Our email provider sends password resets, invites, and replies to contact requests.
- When the law requires it. We may disclose information to comply with a legal request, or to protect people or the service from harm.
Where your data is stored
IgniteCast data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers in the United States. AI providers may process requests in other countries under their own terms.
How long we keep it
Account and content data stay while the account or organization is active. Contact requests and viewing stats are kept so we can reply and so admins can see how guides are used.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Send the request through the contact page from the email on your account. Some content belongs to your organization, so we may need its owner or admin to approve deleting it.
Security
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, not in readable form. The sign-in cookie cannot be read by page scripts, and organization roles limit who can see and change content. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without permission.
Children
IgniteCast is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use of IgniteCast after that date means you accept the update.
