MONTREAL — A Quebec comedy duo notorious for pulling prank calls on celebrities have struck again. This time, comedian Marc Antoine Audette and Sebastian Trudel Audette, known as the Masked Avengers, tricked Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin into believing that she was speaking to French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The duo kept Palin on the line for several minutes and discussed politics and hunting, even making a jab at the current Vice-President's infamous 2006 incident where he shot a friend in the face. Throughout the interview Audette drops hints that he's not who he claims to be. He names popular French singer Johnny Hallyday as his advisor on U.S. affairs and Quebec singer Stef Carse was named as Canada's Prime Minister. "We have such great respect for you [Sarkozy], John and I," she gushed. Later in the interview, Audette, jokes that he and Palin shared an interest in common, hunting. "We should try hunting by helicopter like you did, I never did that," Audette said. "We could have a lot of fun together while we're getting work done. Kill two birds with one stone," Palin replied. Palin also went on to praise Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni. "I look forward to working with you and getting to meet you personally, and your beautiful wife, oh my goodness," she says. "You've added a lot of energy to your country with that beautiful family of yours." Audette responded by joking that Sarkozy's wife, singer and model Carla Bruni, wrote a song about her. When Audette said that he saw Palin as President one day, Palin's response was a diplomatic, "maybe in eight years." At the end of the interview, Audette tips his hand and tells Palin that the call is a hoax. "Oh, have we been pranked," Palin says as she hands the phone to an aide who quickly ended the call. The call will be airing on Montreal radio station CKOI on Monday, the day before Americans go to the polls.    The Palin campaign has also responded to the prank (from Politico): "Gov. Palin was mildly amused to learn that she had joined the ranks of heads of state, including President Sarkozy, and other celebrities in being targeted by these pranksters. C'est la vie."

"High School Musical 3: Senior Year," the first big-screen adaptation of Walt Disney Co's popular TV movie franchise, rocked movie theaters around the world during its first weekend of release, the company said on Sunday. The movie sold $42 million worth of tickets across North America for the three days beginning on Friday, and grossed $40 million internationally. It was No. 1 by both counts, becoming the first worldwide chart-topper since the Batman sequel "The Dark Knight" in July, Disney said. A study being published today reports that godwits can fly up to 7,242 miles nonstop in their annual fall migration from Alaska to New Zealand. The previous record, set by eastern curlews, was 4,000 miles from eastern Australia to China. The godwits flew for five to nine days, tracked by satellite. The birds weigh no more than 1.5 pounds when they leave. Half of that is fat, which they burn off completely during the flight. This festival usually is in the months of September/October called as Aswiyuja, concludes two days before Dussera called as Durgashtami.The name Batukamma is given to a flower stack, arranged with seasonal flowers, usually in seven concentric layers, of potter’s clay like a Cone.Batuku in Telugu means live/life, and Amma means mother, hence Batukamma celebrates the glory of Gauri goddess (meaning fair or white) - the patron Goddess of womanhood.In the evenings, women gather different seasonal flowers, dip in colours, some scented and arrange them on a wide plate called as tambalamu, stack them up in a conical mound.Later they gather in large numbers with their batukammas in their locality, place them in the middle and dance around them, synchronizing steps and claps in unison, and singing soul stirring batukamma folk songs. Women dancing around their Batukammas After singing and dancing, Batukammalu are set afloat in a lake or a pond nearby.This festival goes on for seven days and concludes on Durgastami. Got some gas today on the way in, and just as I put the nozzle in the car, a voice that I could not avoid spoke to me from behind.  It said; “Are you tired of your low mileage vehicle?  Then come on down to your GM dealer and explore all of the fuel efficient options we offer!”  It went something like that anyway.Of course, it was one of those annoying video screens on the top of the gas pump that are normally telling me about something I really don’t care to hear about as I feed my mechanized monster, but this time, I heard it loud and clear.  I nearly stormed off to my friendly neighborhood GM dealer even though I had just leased a new Dodge minivan (yep, I did what I said I’d never do) only 3 weeks ago.Wow, talk about getting your message to your target audience at the exact moment they are feeling the pain that you purport to have the cure for.  Nearly perfect, and it got me to thinking how we can get our messages across every day at the right time, and at the right place… or more likely, how we don’t do this.We live in the information age of course, and never before has it been so easy to access what you need to know, when you need to know it.  Whatever holes there were as far as having access to that information have been largely plugged by Google.  However, most information still has to be sought out by the seeker.  We have to proactively locate a search appliance, and at least have a clue as to what keywords will cause the search mechanism to find what we need to know.So I wonder, what’s next in the world of context sensitivity?  Will we ever get to the point where… say I’m having trouble figuring out how to forward a phone call, and sensing that I’m having diffculty, a little hologram guy pops out of the top of the phone and tells me how to do it?A glimpse of how far context sensitivity could be taken can be seen in the movie “Minority Report” where Tom Cruise is walking along a hallway, and the massive video screens curtail their message to him specifically as he passes them.  I don’t think any of us would like to see it go that far, but what’s a happy medium?  At what point is context sensitivity annoying vs. helpful?  What say ye?
